There's always time to break out of a shell

Outgoing is a word used to describe me only by my closest of friends. I prefer one-on-one conversations to a large get-together and am typically rather shy around strangers. It takes some time, and many one-on-one conversations, for me to open up. I discovered recently that this is a character trait I want to overcome.
