Oooops ... and sorry for the delay!

First and foremost ... I recently changed my blog comments to require my approval. Not sure why, I guess I was craving a bit of control in my life that suddenly feels completely out of my hands? Haha, at least that's what I'm going with. However, every time I visit my site, I forget that I have to "moderate" my comments. I just realized I had 7 comments to okay (or deny.. I ok'd them all though). My apologies if any of you were wondering what was going on ;)

My apologies as well for not updating this blog in nearly a month. I was in Ohio over Easter and headed up to Washington DC with my husband this weekend (thanks Andrea and Brad for puppy sitting!) I'll post pictures of the DC trip when I have some time. We have about 250 photos and some of them are great! In our two day trip, we toured the International Spy Museum, took a "Blossom Secrets Stroll" organized by a group called Washington Walks (if you're ever in the city, I definitely recommend taking one of these tours) and saw a lot of the National Mall, Federal Triangle, Chinatown, Capitol Hill and Old Downtown (where the courts and the DC FBI office are located). We were on our feet for at least 20 hours (I'm guessing even more though). I was happy to find a Caribou Coffee just a few blocks from the White House; I loved my Turtle Sundae Mocha! We actually learned a lot of interesting things during our trip, so I'll post the pictures with little stories and tidbits we picked up along the way.

Other than that, I simply cannot believe it's already April. Our niece is a few days late at the moment (my sister-in-law was due on Saturday), and if the baby doesn't arrive on her own tonight I think the doctor will induce tomorrow! We're quite excited to welcome the little gal into our lives, even if we cannot be in Ohio to share in the moment. Our fingers are crossed and our prayers said for a good delivery for all involved. Three of our friends and Mike's cousin have also had babies this year, and my aunt is pregnant as well. Seems like we missed the bandwagon, but I must say I'm not so terribly concerned by this. We've still got our own living to do. I'm just glad we have some friends who agree with this philosophy, at least a little bit! :)

Our walking trip caused my hip to flare up and I've been attached to my heating pad and ice for the past couple of days. Luckily, I think the worst of it as finally passed and I'm hoping I don't need to visit the Tricare office this week.

Minus the hip pan, life is going well right now. We're looking forward to welcoming spring in VA. The weather was a bit iffy in DC, but it looks like spring could officially be here. Here's to hoping!

And here's to hoping I can get our DC trip posted for you all to enjoy by the end of the week!

  1. Glad to hear you are doing okay. We should work on getting Jarrod and Tiff here before you leave for Texas. Help me talk them into it!
